I am glad someone started writing about this issue! Apart from other tragedies around this world, this false christianity, this wrong group should stop! How can people claiming to be with God do such thing as coercive conversion? Even killing people? In 21st century... oh cĀ“mon!

I just heard about this recently, it is such a terrible thing that people cannot express their own religion freely! Everyone should really speak more about this issue since religious freedom is really such a basic human right. Such a terrible thing that Ms. Ji-In Gu had to pass away under these horrible circumstances We as a society should inform everyone to rally against this coercive conversion so that no more lives are lost or ruined at the hands of the CCK!!

Conversion.. the word itself annoys me. Why should there be a conversion even. Everyone has rights to do what they want, and I believe laws protect this ?

This angers me on many levels. Isn't the Republic of Korea a supposedly democratic, constitutional government with freedom of religion? Why hasn't the Korean government said anything? It's beyond my understanding that this is happening in 21st century Korea. Glad this has been published by the New York Times. I hope these pastors are held fully responsible for their actions.

The government of Korea should be ashamed of itself. How many people need to suffer before they put an end to these practices? Governments should serve the people who elected them.

This is just pure injustice. Paying to forcibly convert someone's religion is violation of basic human rights. Who knows where else this could be hapoening in the world? It could be happening in our neighbourhood or school or workplace and we wouldn't even know. We have to raise awareness for this issue. A small act can leave a huge impact.
